Common questions about this trip

• Why no red wine?

  Honest answer — red wine stains the boat. Cabin floors, sheets, deck cushions, everything. Cans of cider/beer or boxed white wine only (max 24 cans, 1 box wine, or 0.5L spirits per person). Bottle shop at the marina.

• Is one night enough?

  It's tight. You get the highlights but no big sleep-in. If you can swing 2N, do ProSail or Adventurer instead. Summertime 1N is for people short on time or budget.

• Wait — really no WiFi?

  Really. That's the whole point of Summertime — proper off-grid sailing. Tell people you'll be off comms for 2 days, post a photo when you're back. Charging ports work for phones (in the main saloon).

• Is there AC on board?

  Yes — full AC throughout the vessel. Rare for a 70-year-old ketch but they retrofitted it. You'll sleep cool.

• Bedding + towels?

  Bed linen + bath towel provided. Bring your OWN beach towel — they don't give you one for shore stops.

• Dietary needs — vegan, GF?

  Catered for, but with a small surcharge — $10/day extra for vegan, GF or other special diets. Flag at booking.

• Smoking on board?

  Yes — designated smoking + vaping areas. Not below deck.

• How big a bag can I bring?

  Small-to-medium overnight bag only. Soft-sided. Storage limited. Larger bags stay at your Airlie hostel.
