This is the Red Centre with no fat on it. Four days out of Alice Springs that finish at Yulara, so you fly out of Uluru rather than backtracking, and three nights in a swag at exclusive safari-style camps. If you're short on time or money, it gets you to the big three without skipping any of them.
Day one hits Kata Tjuta's domes for the Walpa Gorge walk, then Uluru at sunset with snacks at the viewing area. Day two is the early one: sunrise on the rock, the full base walk (about 10 km, roughly three hours), the Cultural Centre and art by Central and Western Desert artists, then a four-hour drive to camp near Watarrka National Park. Day three is the Kings Canyon Rim Walk, taking in the Lost City, the Garden of Eden, the Amphitheatre and the North and South Walls, before a three-hour run back to Yulara.
That last evening is yours: Field of Light, Wintjiri Wiru, Sounds of Silence or a sunset camel ride are optional extras, or catch the Uluru sunset again from a different spot for nothing. Three breakfasts, lunches and dinners, park entry and a multilingual audio guide (French, German, Japanese, Korean, Spanish) are included, and the final morning ends with a free 10-minute transfer to a Yulara resort hotel or the airport.

Ends at Yulara, fly out of Uluru
Meet your guide and group at the Alice Springs pick-up point (around 6am) and head south into the Red Centre for the 4.5 hour drive to Yulara and an early lunch. A short drive brings you to Kata Tjuta (The Olgas), where 36 domes of different sizes rise from the desert, a real contrast to Uluru. Get to know the landscape on the Walpa Gorge Walk between the domes. As evening unfolds, head to the sunset viewing area for a light snack while the sun slowly sets, casting earthy tones across Uluru. The perfect end to the day is back at camp with a delicious spread of food with your group and, weather permitting, a night under the stars.
An early start is rewarded with an Uluru sunrise. Your guide takes you to one of the significant cultural sites of Uluru, outlining Anangu rock art and passing on one of the site's creation stories, then you set off on a self-guided full base walk around the rock. After lunch, visit the Cultural Centre to view hand-crafted art by First Nations peoples of the Western and Central Deserts. Then travel to an exclusive campsite near Watarrka National Park (Kings Canyon), where the group has dinner and enjoys the stars.
The main attraction of Watarrka National Park is Kings Canyon, a huge gorge enclosed by sheer rock walls many metres high. With porous sandstone, deep gullies and hidden rock pools, it shelters more than 600 species of native plants and animals, and your guide points them out on a trek that takes in the Lost City, the Garden of Eden, the Amphitheatre and the North and South Walls. After lunch, it is back on the road for the journey to Yulara, arriving in the late afternoon. The evening is free for optional extras (Sunset Camel Cruise, Field of Light, Outback Sky Tour or the Wintjiri Wiru drone show) or, free of charge, the Uluru sunset from a different perspective. Carry at least 3 litres of water on the Rim Walk.
After a short sleep-in, enjoy a hearty breakfast at camp. Depending on your departure time, take the free 10 minute transfer to Yulara's Desert Gardens Hotel or Ayers Rock Airport. If you have plenty of time before your flight, leave your luggage at the hotel and spend some time at Ayers Rock Resort shopping at your leisure. Regular free shuttles run from the hotel to the airport.
