About picking up in Brisbane
Brisbane is the smart pickup if you want to skip Sydney and dive straight into the tropics. Cheaper one-way fees to Cairns than from Sydney. Short hop to the Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast.

Can I do a one-way rental from Brisbane? +
Yes. Brisbane to Cairns one-way is one of the most popular routes we quote, and the one-way fee is lower than running it from Sydney.
Can I hire a campervan one way from Brisbane to Sydney? +
Yes. Brisbane to Sydney one-way is a standard route: allow 5 to 7 days down the coast via the Gold Coast, Byron Bay and Coffs Harbour. The one-way fee varies by operator and season, and we build it into the quote.
Is Brisbane a good pickup for K'gari (Fraser Island)? +
It is the closest big-city depot to Rainbow Beach, the K'gari gateway. You can't drive a hire campervan onto the island, so leave it at Rainbow Beach and take a 4WD tour across.
How old do I need to be to hire? +
Most operators rent to drivers 21 and over, with some accepting 18 to 20 for a young-driver surcharge. We only quote vans your age qualifies for.
When is it cheapest? +
April to May and September are the sweet spot out of Brisbane: warm enough up north, cheaper than the June to August dry-season rush to the reef.
What is the minimum hire length? +
