Overview

The Yarra Valley has been making wine since 1838, Victoria's oldest region, and still its most convenient masterpiece, sitting an easy drive from Melbourne. This tour does it the civilised way: a 12-seater minibus, a maximum of 11 guests, and a professional guide who handles the driving while you handle the tasting.

The day visits three to four vineyards with all tastings included, working through the region's signatures, chardonnay and pinot noir that built the valley's reputation across 150-plus years of viticulture. Between cellar doors there's a lunch stop in the village of Healesville, where the cafés are good and the pace is better; optional extras like cider tastings or the Rochford lunch package can be added if you're feeling expansive.

Free pickup runs from Melbourne city and select St Kilda locations, with chilled water onboard for hydration management, a professional consideration on a wine day. Six and a half hours, gloriously unrushed.
