About picking up in Broome
Broome sits at the top end of the Perth → Broome Coral Coast drive and is the jumping-off point for the Kimberley. Britz, Maui and Apollo all have depots in town, which makes it a popular one-way drop-off or a pickup heading south. Plan for the dry season (May–October): the wet brings heat, heavy rain and road closures right across the region.

Campervan hire in Broome: common questions
When is the best time to hire a campervan in Broome? +
May to October, the dry season. Days are warm and clear and the roads are open. From November to April it's hot and humid, cyclones are possible, and floods can close roads across the Kimberley.
Can I drive the Gibb River Road in a hire campervan? +
Only in a 4WD camper that the operator approves for it. The Gibb is long, unsealed and remote, and standard campervans aren't permitted on it. Tell us you're planning the Gibb and we'll only quote 4WD vehicles that are allowed.
Is there a one-way fee to drop off in Broome? +
Usually, yes, for one-way hires from Perth or Darwin. The fee varies by operator and season, and we include it in your quote upfront so there are no surprises at the counter.
