Overview

The day starts at a wildlife park, where you can meet kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, emus and wombats. Then it is west into the mountains for a first short walk to a World Heritage lookout, before free time in Katoomba to explore and have lunch (at your own expense).

After lunch comes the longer walk: about two hours of guided bushwalking on national park tracks away from the crowds, with waterfalls, parrots and, if you are lucky, a lyrebird. The day finishes at the Three Sisters, where the guide tells the Dreaming story and talks about bush tucker and native plants.

A moderate level of fitness is needed for the walks. Entry to Featherdale Wildlife Park, national park fees and return transfers from Sydney are included. Scenic World is not part of this tour. Check the weather forecast the day before you go.

"This was an amazing tour! … was really kind and knowledgeable, and patient with us for the steep hike to the bottom of the waterfall and back. The wildlife park experience was also amazing, we got there early doors so beat the queues and had what felt like a private experience of the park."

"We had the most beautiful day yesterday with this company. The wildlife park was wonderful, with the ability to feed the animals roaming around. We had the best time, and we were even given little koala trinkets as a souvenir by …, our tour guide."
