The Buzzy Bee is a 13-day, one-way run from Auckland to Queenstown. It winds down the North Island, crosses to the South Island, and cruises the West Coast to finish in Queenstown.
The overnight stops are Auckland, Hot Water Beach, Waitomo, Rotorua, Taupo, Wellington, Kaiteriteri, Westport, Mahinapua, Franz Josef and Queenstown. Taupo has a free day, and the Westport to Lake Mahinapua sector is a seasonal location. A single Cook Strait ferry ticket from the North to the South Island is included.
It suits travellers who want both islands but would rather finish in Queenstown than loop back to where they started. Franz Josef and Mahinapua sit on the way, and the whole route is a hop-on hop-off pass from Kiwi Experience.
