The Funky Chicken is the best of the North and South islands as a loop you can join at any point. Start wherever you like and you end up back where you began, and with the Unlimited Travel offer you can repeat sectors again for free within 12 months (terms and conditions apply).
The overnight stops are Auckland, Hot Water Beach, Waitomo, Rotorua, Taupo, Wellington, Kaiteriteri, Westport, Mahinapua, Franz Josef, Queenstown, Lake Tekapo, Christchurch and Kaikoura, then Wellington again. Taupo, Franz Josef and Queenstown each have a free day, and the loop ends with an express service from Wellington to Auckland via Taupo and Rotorua.
Two Cook Strait ferry tickets are included, covering the return journey. It suits travellers who want a full 20-day lap of the country without being tied to Auckland as the start point. It's a hop-on hop-off pass from Kiwi Experience.
