Overview

Abel Tasman is New Zealand's sunniest corner, golden beaches, granite headlands, water in unreasonable shades of green, and the best way through it is at paddle height. The Two Day Classic gives you exactly that, with the logistics stripped out: fully catered, fully equipped, guided the whole way.

You travel by stable double sea kayak, with your guide leading the route and then cooking every meal. Nights are spent at a beachside campsite with two-person tents, inflatable mattresses and sleeping bags if you need them, plus dry bags for your camera, spray skirts, paddle jackets and filtered water. All you carry is enthusiasm and sunscreen.

It suits anyone short on time who still wants the real overnight version of the park, and it pairs neatly with a day or two of hiking either side. Transport to the park is a separate add-on, pick the option that fits when you book.

"An absolutely spectacular experience kayaking in the Abel Tasman marine reserve with our two teens. The prepared lunch was fantastic, and we even had plunger coffee. Wonderful beaches, and really just a fabulous day."

"Our guides were friendly and knowledgeable. They showed a true love for science and nature that was clear in all they spoke about and we learned so much. We also had a blast - the kayaks were extremely easy to use. We saw seals, sting rays, and so many birds. Would recommend this to anyone visiting the area!"
