Overview

Landing in Australia solo is the hardest part of a long trip. This seven-day group tour makes it the easiest: you're met at the airport, you're with a group from day one, and by the end of the week you've done Sydney properly and made the friends you'll head up the coast with.

The first days are Sydney's greatest hits: a guided walk past the Botanic Garden, Darling Harbour and the Opera House, a welcome dinner, then a day on a private catamaran on the harbour with swims and lunch on board. Mid-week the group heads north to Port Stephens for two nights in beach cabins: sunrise at One Mile Beach, sandboarding on the Stockton dunes by 4WD, the Mt Tomaree hike and a dolphin-spotting cruise.

Back in Sydney it's the Coogee to Bondi coastal walk, a swim at Bondi and a three-venue bar crawl, then a free last day for whatever you missed. Seven nights in hostel dorms, a tour leader, all the activities above and seven meals are included.
