Overview

The North Island in ten days, Auckland to Wellington, with a guide, a private coach and a maximum of 24 travellers. It covers the coast first, then the culture and the volcanoes.

You start on the Coromandel with Hahei, Cathedral Cove and a hot pool you dig yourself at Hot Water Beach. Then it's the Karangahake Gorge, the Hobbiton movie set tour and Rotorua's boiling mud pools at Kuirau Park. A cultural experience at Lake Aniwhenua follows, then Huka Falls, the Tongariro Alpine Crossing and two nights in Wellington.

The tour includes 9 nights of dorm-style accommodation and 9 breakfasts, with a free day in Hahei and another in Wellington. The Tongariro Crossing costs extra when snow and ice mean an alpine guide and equipment are required.
