Some Whitsundays boats motor. Camira sails: an 85-foot ocean-going catamaran, the largest sailing catamaran in the Whitsundays, with capped passenger numbers so there is room to stretch out on the bow nets. When she leans into the wind between stops you'll get why sailors never shut up about it.
Check in at Port of Airlie, 24 The Cove Road, 20 minutes before the 8:15am departure. You sail out past Daydream, Hamilton and Hook Islands. The day's anchors are Whitehaven Beach, seven kilometres of silica sand with free time to swim and wander, and the guided walk to the Hill Inlet lookout for the swirling-sand view, about 1.3 kilometres return over sand and uneven ground, tide permitting. There is a 45-minute to one-hour snorkel over fringing reef with gear and the mandatory stinger suits supplied. Morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, soft drinks and water are included, and beer, wine and cider are served from 10am, after the snorkel. You are back at Port of Airlie about 5:30pm.
Suits ages four and up; infants cannot travel. Snorkelling is optional and for confident swimmers. Tours run rain or shine. Bring swimmers, a towel, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, a light jacket, a refillable bottle and footwear for the Hill Inlet walk; thongs are fine. Coach transfers from Airlie Beach to the port are not included, need 12 hours notice and are booked separately. Stingers can be present year-round, higher risk October to May, which is why the suit rule never lapses.

Tripadvisor review
"Overall it was a great day out on the water. The crew is fantastic, the food was generous and of good quality. Even though there was around 70 people on the boat it did not feel crowded and everyone was able to find a good spot on the boat. Music playing through out, very smooth sailing. Felt very looked after the whole time."

The crew were engaging, ready to answer any questions while keeping an eye on their passengers. Food was provided throughout the day, lunch in particular was delicious."
