Overview

Three days, two national parks and two nights in the bush. You travel from Darwin with an accredited outback driver-guide in an air-conditioned 4WD bus, camp at permanent eco-style campsites with camp kitchens and shared bathrooms, and help your guide cook the meals. This listing is the bush swag option: a canvas-covered bedroll with a camp mattress, to sleep under the stars.

Day one is the Corroboree Billabong wetland cruise, the Bowali Visitor Centre, Cahills Crossing and a sunset climb at Ubirr over the Nadab floodplain. Day two is waterfall day in Kakadu, visiting one or more of Gunlom, Motor Car Falls, Moline Rockhole, Maguk or Jim Jim depending on access and the group's fitness, with a stop at Nourlangie rock art if time allows. Day three heads to Litchfield for Buley Rockhole, Wangi Falls or Florence Falls, and the magnetic and cathedral termite mounds, arriving back in Darwin around 7pm.

Waterfall access changes with the season (the falls typically don't open until late June), and the guide adjusts the route to conditions. A sleeping bag can be hired for $40, or bring your own.
