Overview

The Skippy Pass is the South Island on a single ticket. It starts in Queenstown and loops back to Queenstown, so you never have to work out how to get home, only where to stop on the way.

The route runs from Queenstown to Lake Tekapo, then Christchurch, then up the coast to Kaikoura for marine life. From there it crosses to Abel Tasman's coastline, drops down the West Coast through Westport and Mahinapua, and pauses at Franz Josef Glacier before the final run back to Queenstown.

It suits travellers who want the whole island without planning each leg: a fixed loop on a hop-on hop-off pass, run by Kiwi Experience. Queenstown is both the start and the finish, which makes arriving and leaving simple.
