Overview

The Bula Pass is the ferry and nothing else, which is exactly why people buy it. The Yasawa Flyer, a high-speed catamaran, leaves Port Denarau every morning at 8.45am, calls at South Sea Island and then the Yasawa resorts up the chain, and is back at Denarau around 6pm. Your pass lets you get on and off along that route for as many days as you've bought.

Passes run from 5 to 15 days, starting on your first day of travel and ending on the last. Accommodation isn't included. Book your beds before you go, or as you travel through the tour desk on board, and pay each resort's meal plan when you arrive. The pass covers one island hop per day, and you can extend it on board before it runs out by paying the difference.

Coach transfers between Port Denarau and most Nadi, Denarau, Vuda and Wailoaloa hotels are included, and pass holders get discounted rates on a Malamala Beach Club day or a sailing day trip. If you'd rather have the beds booked for you, look at our Yasawa Pass or the fixed island-hop packages.

Common questions about this trip

  • Does the Bula Pass include accommodation?

No. It's the ferry and hotel coach only. You book each island bed separately, before you go or through the tour desk on board. For beds included, choose a Yasawa Pass or one of the fixed packages.
  • How many trips can I take?

One island hop per day for the length of your pass. Extra sectors on the same day are charged at the normal fare.
  • Can I extend it?

Yes, on board before it expires, by paying the difference to the longer pass.
  • Are meals included?

No. Island resorts run compulsory meal plans, paid on arrival in Fijian dollars, since they're the only places to eat. Bring a card; there are no banks on the islands.
  • Is there a fuel surcharge?

Yes. The ferry operator sets it monthly, currently FJ$20 per person, and it's paid locally before you board rather than included in this price. Budget for it in Fijian dollars.
  • What's the cancellation policy?

No fee to cancel 24 or more hours before the start. Inside 24 hours, or a no-show, the full price applies. No amendment fee to change dates up to the travel date. The operator can cancel boat departures or vary the itinerary for bad conditions. Wanderlust handles the refund for you, refunds mirror the operator's terms 1:1 (including if the operator cancels) and we chase it on your behalf.
