Overview

The 1770 LARC is an amphibious vessel that drives to beaches and national park shores and then drives into the water. This award-winning day tour travels along the Eurimbula National Park coast with commentary on wildlife and the history of Bustard Bay and the town of 1770.

It includes a visit inside Queensland's only operating lighthouse open to the public, the Bustard Head Lightstation, with the light-keeper's cottage museum and cemetery. You may see dolphins, rays, crabs and migratory birds. Guests also get exclusive access to the Middle Island sand dunes for sandboarding, with equipment supplied.

Morning tea and a lunch of wraps with a choice of fillings, including vegetarian, with fruit and snacks, are included. A fee of $11 per person for National Parks and the lighthouse is paid at check-in. Bring a hat, towel, sunscreen, swimmers and water.
