Overview

Start a Magnetic Island day with the locals. This 90-minute experience at Horseshoe Bay pairs a ranger-led wildlife session with a cooked breakfast served outdoors among native trees.

The rangers introduce you to Australian animals including their koalas and Harry the southern hairy-nosed wombat, and talk about the island's wildlife and how they look after it. It's hands-on learning rather than a photo line: there are no koala-holding photos, for the animals' sake, so bring your own camera.

Arrive at the reception deck by 8:15am; the ranger collects you at 8:30am sharp. Numbers are limited, so book ahead. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are on the menu.
