Overview

For people who don't want a fixed route. The Yasawa Pass covers the catamaran between the islands and your accommodation at the end of each leg, for anywhere from 5 to 15 days. You choose where to stop: the backpacker favourites like Kuata, Octopus Resort and South Sea Island, manta country, or Blue Lagoon at the top of the chain. Stay up to four nights at any one resort.

We book your first island before you fly. Further stops can be locked in now with our concierge, or sorted on the boat through the tour desk as you go, at least a day ahead. Coach transfers from most Nadi, Denarau and Wailoaloa hotels to Port Denarau are included, and the catamaran leaves daily at 8.45am. Resort meal plans are compulsory and paid on each island, and activities are extra, so you only pay for what you actually do.

1 Day 1 · Into the islands (day 1)

Hotel pickup and the 8.45am catamaran from Port Denarau to your first island, booked before you fly.

2 Day 2 · Your route (the middle days)

Move on whenever you like, up to four nights at each resort. Pre-book your stops with us, or book on board at the tour desk at least a day ahead.

5 Day 5 · Back to Denarau (last day)

Ride the catamaran back to Port Denarau, in around 6pm, and your Nadi hotel.

Common questions about this trip

  • How is this different from the Bula Pass?
    The Bula Pass is the ferry only and you pay for beds separately. The Yasawa Pass includes your accommodation on every night of the pass.

  • Do I have to plan the whole route now?
    No. Only your first night needs booking before you go. The rest you can book with us now or on board as you travel, at least 24 hours before each move.

  • Which islands can I stay on?
    The resorts on the ferry route through the Mamanucas and Yasawas, including backpacker favourites like Kuata, Octopus Resort and South Sea Island. You can stay up to four nights at any one resort.

  • Are meals included?
    No. Each island resort runs a compulsory meal plan paid on arrival, since there's nowhere else to eat. Budget for it in Fijian dollars.

  • Is there a fuel surcharge?
    Yes. The ferry operator sets it monthly, currently FJ$20 per person, paid locally before you board.

  • How do you confirm the booking?
    Island beds are confirmed on request; our concierge confirms your first stop within 48 hours. If we can't confirm your dates, you don't pay for it.

  • What's the cancellation policy?
    Cancellation terms for this trip are set by the operator and confirmed on your booking voucher. Refunds mirror the operator's policy, if they can refund, so can we. Wanderlust handles the refund for you, refunds mirror the operator's terms 1:1 (including if the operator cancels) and we chase it on your behalf.
