Overview

Travel between Tasmania's two main cities the scenic way. You leave Hobart heading east through Orford and Swansea to Freycinet National Park, then walk with the group to the Wineglass Bay lookout, a moderate uphill walk of 45 to 60 minutes. From there you can walk back with your guide and see Honeymoon Bay, Sleepy Bay and the Cape Tourville Lighthouse walk, or carry on down to the beach on a 2.5-hour return walk of roughly 1,000 stairs.

The last stop is Devil's Corner Winery, with views over Freycinet, then you continue into Launceston, arriving about 6pm. You can bring one suitcase or travel pack per person plus a day pack, and the tour drops you at your Launceston hotel where it is one of the operator's selected locations, or at a central point.

The national park entrance fee is included. Food and drink are not, but you can buy bakery-style takeaway lunch on the way. Bring sturdy shoes and layers.
