Tahune Airwalk and Hastings Caves Active Day Tour from Hobart

Overview

South of Hobart, this day tour goes up and then down. At the Tahune Forest Airwalk you walk a 597m cantilever bridge through the treetops, about 40m above the ground and the Huon River. There's time for more walking at Tahune, such as the Swinging Bridges (a 45-minute walk with a 50m span across the river) or the Huon Pine walk.

Further south you reach Hastings Cave Reserve and head underground on a guided tour of Australia's largest tourist dolomite cave, which stays at 9 degrees all year. Bring swimmers for the thermal springs pool, kept at 28 degrees, and keep an eye out for platypus on the nature trail.

On the way back to Hobart the guide makes seasonal stops at roadside stalls and a honey tasting. You return around 5.30 to 6pm. Tahune Airwalk entry, national park fees, the Hastings Caves tour and thermal pool entry are all included. Meals and drinks are not.
