Overview

Purpose-built yellow boats take you along the coast of the Tasman National Park between Port Arthur and Eaglehawk Neck, sitting at the foot of the highest sea cliffs in the southern hemisphere. The cruise passes the dolerite cliffs at Cape Pillar, towering sea stacks such as Cathedral Rock, the Totem Pole and the Candlestick, and glides in and out of sea caves.

Tasman Island, one of the Southern Ocean's great landmarks and the turning point of the Sydney to Hobart yacht race, is a highlight. Look out for seals, dolphins and seabirds along the way.

Check in at 9.15am at the booking centre at 6961 Arthur Highway, Port Arthur, 100m before the Port Arthur Historic Site entrance, for a pre-cruise briefing and a bus transfer to the boat. The cruise concludes around 1pm. Allow about 90 minutes to drive from Hobart, as transport from Hobart is not part of this listing. Dress warmly, with jacket, scarf, beanie and gloves.

"Absolutely brilliant fun. Small group size for a three hour boat trip around the stunning Tasmanian Peninsula but this was unlike any boat trip I’ve been on - I swear this was like jet boating on the ocean!! It was excellent fun, we saw dolphins, seals and albatross really close up, as well as stunning scenery."
