Overview

Most island boats are back at Port Denarau in the early evening, and a lot of flights home leave the next day. This pack covers that gap. A coach meets the boat at Port Denarau and takes you to Smugglers Cove, you sleep, and a shared transfer runs you to Nadi International Airport for your flight.

Smugglers Cove is on Wailoaloa Beach in Nadi, about 20 minutes from the airport and from Port Denarau, and a five-minute drive from the Martintar bars and restaurants. A backpacker hostel and hotel rolled into one, popular with international travellers. The Ghost Ship Bar & Restaurant looks over the pool and the beach. It suits solo travellers and anyone who wants a dorm bed and a bar full of people heading the same way. Rooms on offer: Air-conditioned dorms (a 22-bed unisex dorm, the 14-bed Girl's Sanctuary and a 4-bed unisex dorm), standard garden-view rooms, deluxe premium rooms and oceanfront balcony rooms, all private rooms with their own bathroom.

'Moce' (mo-they) is Fijian for goodbye. Book this before you head out to the islands so the last day of the trip is already sorted. The pack is one night; extra nights on the mainland can be added on request.

    The courtesy coach meets the returning island boats; the main Yasawa boat is back at Port Denarau around 6pm. Go straight to your allocated coach once you've collected your luggage.

    It's set around your flight, so give us your flight number and time when you book and we'll pass it on.

  • Can I add nights?
    Yes. Ask us and we'll add extra nights before the airport transfer.

  • Is there a girls-only dorm?
    Yes. The Girl's Sanctuary dorm has 14 beds and air-con. There's also a 4-bed dorm and a 22-bed unisex dorm.

  • What's the cancellation policy?
    For Welcome and Departure Packs, there is no fee 31 or more days out, 50% from 15 to 30 days, and full charge at 14 days or less. For packages and island stays, the deposit is non-refundable 81 or more days out, the higher of 10% or the deposit applies from 46 to 80 days, and 100% applies at 45 days or less. Date changes up to 80 days out have no amendment fee. The operator can cancel vessel departures or vary itineraries for adverse conditions. Wanderlust handles the refund for you, refunds mirror the operator's terms 1:1 (including if the operator cancels) and we chase it on your behalf.
