Overview

Nanuya Island Resort is family-run and sits on the sunset side of Nanuya Lailai Island, with white beaches, a few near-empty islands offshore and the Blue Lagoon out front. It's the comfortable option in the region: no dorms, and every room has its own bathroom.

The traditional treetop bures sit up in the trees over the lagoon with a balcony and a fan. Deluxe villas add air-con and a private courtyard. Superior villas have an outdoor rain shower and a spa bath. The standalone luxury villa has its own garden and 270-degree lagoon views. Dining is à la carte, paid as you go, instead of a fixed meal plan.

Snorkelling, paddleboarding, kayaking and guided island walks are free. Paid extras include a guided snorkel safari, a glass-bottom boat, scuba diving, a kava ceremony and village tours, and on Fridays there's a meke performance and shell market. The catamaran arrives around 1.45pm and collects you at the same time the next day. Return ferry and Nadi hotel coach are included.

Common questions about this trip

  • How do meals work here?

Unlike most Yasawa resorts, Nanuya Island Resort doesn't run a set meal plan. You order à la carte and pay at the resort, in Fijian dollars or by card.
  • Is there a dorm?

No, it's private bures and villas only. For a dorm on the same island, look at Boathouse Nanuya.
  • Which room has air-con?

The deluxe, superior and luxury villas. The traditional treetop bures are fan-cooled.
  • Is there a fuel surcharge?

Yes. The ferry operator sets it monthly, currently FJ$20 per person, and it's paid locally before you board rather than included in this price. Budget for it in Fijian dollars.
  • How is the booking confirmed?

Island beds are confirmed on request with the resort, and we come back to you within 48 hours. If your date can't be confirmed, you don't pay for it.
  • What's the cancellation policy?

For Welcome and Departure Packs, there is no fee 31 or more days out, 50% from 15 to 30 days, and full charge at 14 days or less. For packages and island stays, the deposit is non-refundable 81 or more days out, the higher of 10% or the deposit applies from 46 to 80 days, and 100% applies at 45 days or less. Date changes up to 80 days out have no amendment fee. The operator can cancel vessel departures or vary itineraries for adverse conditions. Wanderlust handles the refund for you, refunds mirror the operator's terms 1:1 (including if the operator cancels) and we chase it on your behalf.
