Overview

A Yasawa Pass is the ferry and your beds in one: hop-on hop-off catamaran travel through the islands, with pre-paid nights at the resorts you choose. This is the upgraded version. Instead of dorms, every night is in a higher-category private bure with its own bathroom, often on the beachfront.

The upgrade rooms include beachfront bures at South Sea Island, Barefoot Kuata and Barefoot Manta, garden bures at Octopus, reef bures and beachfront villas at Mantaray Island, garden villas at Blue Lagoon Beach Resort, bungalows and villas at Coconut Beach, beachfront studios at Oarsman's Bay Lodge, treetop and deluxe villas at Nanuya Island Resort, and garden bungalows at Paradise Cove. Book your first night before you travel, then lock in the rest in advance or as you go through the tour desk on board. In peak season it pays to book ahead.

Passes run from 5 to 15 days, priced for one, two or three people sharing. Coach transfers from your Nadi hotel are included. Meals are on each resort's compulsory meal plan, paid on the island, and pass holders get discounted rates on a Malamala Beach Club day or a sailing day trip before or after.

Common questions about this trip

  • How is this different from the standard Yasawa Pass?

Same ferry and same flexibility, but every night is in an upgraded private bure with its own bathroom, often beachfront, instead of a dorm or standard room.
  • Do I have to plan every night before I go?

Only the first night. After that you can book everything in advance or as you go through the tour desk on the boat. You can stay up to four nights at any one resort.
  • How does the ferry part work?

The catamaran leaves Port Denarau at 8.45am daily, runs up the chain and is back around 6pm. The pass covers one island hop per day; extra sectors are charged at the normal fare.
  • Are meals included?

No. Each resort runs a compulsory meal plan, paid on the island in Fijian dollars, since the resorts are the only places to eat. Bring a card; there are no banks on the islands.
  • Is there a fuel surcharge?

Yes. The ferry operator sets it monthly, currently FJ$20 per person, and it's paid locally before you board rather than included in this price. Budget for it in Fijian dollars.
  • How is the booking confirmed?

Island beds are confirmed on request, and we come back to you within 48 hours. If your dates can't be confirmed, you don't pay for it.
  • What's the cancellation policy?

For Welcome and Departure Packs, there is no fee 31 or more days out, 50% from 15 to 30 days, and full charge at 14 days or less. For packages and island stays, the deposit is non-refundable 81 or more days out, the higher of 10% or the deposit applies from 46 to 80 days, and 100% applies at 45 days or less. Date changes up to 80 days out have no amendment fee. The operator can cancel vessel departures or vary itineraries for adverse conditions. Wanderlust handles the refund for you, refunds mirror the operator's terms 1:1 (including if the operator cancels) and we chase it on your behalf.
