Overview

The day starts at 7.30am at the Coral Bay Ecotours office, with a short bus transfer to the jetty. The first stop is a snorkel in the coral gardens, then after morning tea the boat heads to the outer reef while a spotter plane searches for whale sharks.

When a whale shark is found, guests split into two groups of 10 and take turns swimming with it, with up to one hour of swimming time. A second reef snorkel at a different site follows on the way home. A buffet lunch, morning and afternoon tea, long wetsuits, snorkel gear and an underwater photo package are all provided.

Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed, and there are no repeat offers or refunds for non-sightings. The tour is recommended for experienced swimmers.
