Overview

Some of Magnetic Island's best spots are hard to find on your own, and that's where this five-hour catamaran tour goes. It's run by a local family who've called the island home for decades, so the stories come with the scenery.

The 12-metre catamaran is built for it: you can step off straight onto the beach or slip into the water over the fringing reef, then come and go from the boat as you please while you snorkel. Expect secluded bays, swimming, reef life and a good chance of meeting some of the island's wildlife.

The tour leaves Nelly Bay at 8:15am and is back by about 1:15pm, an easy walk from the Sealink ferry terminal. The boat is shaded, stable and has a toilet and change room, and it suits all ages and abilities.
