Overview

The Fiji Five does the mainland and the islands in one fixed trip. The first four days are guided on Viti Levu: a kava ceremony and a night on Robinson Crusoe Island with its fire dancing show, Sigatoka market and the Biausevu waterfall trek, a day of boat rides and tubing on the Navua River, then sandboarding on the Sigatoka dunes and the Sabeto mud pools. You spend a night back in Nadi before the islands.

Then the boats take over. Two nights on South Sea Island in the Mamanucas, with a saltwater pool, a semi-submersible and free non-motorised water sports. Two nights at Barefoot Kuata, your first Yasawa island. Two nights at Barefoot Manta, where mantas visit the channel from May to October. On day eleven the afternoon boat has you back at Port Denarau in the early evening, with a transfer to your Nadi accommodation or the airport.

The guide stays with you on the mainland; the island section is independent, with every transfer and bed booked. Rooms are a dorm, a shared double or a single. The trip departs Nadi on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and once it starts the dates are fixed. Lunch is included on days two to four; the island resorts run compulsory meal plans, paid on arrival.

Common questions about this trip

  • Which days does it start?

The trip departs Nadi on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Pick one of those days as your start date.
  • Is the guide with me the whole time?

Only on the four mainland days. The island section is independent, with every boat and bed pre-booked, so stick to the schedule: leave early and you risk losing the later legs.
  • Which meals are included?

Lunch on days two, three and four, and continental breakfast at Uprising Beach Resort. Every island resort runs a compulsory meal plan, paid on arrival in Fijian dollars; elsewhere meals are from the menu. Drinks are extra.
  • Which room should I book?

Dorm is a bed in a shared room, priced per person. The double is per person for two travellers sharing, and both of you must book together. The single is a private room for one.
  • What should I bring?

Enough cash for meal plans and extras (there are no banks on the islands), water, sunglasses and a hat, a change of clothes, a towel, shoes you can trek and get wet in, sunscreen and insect repellent.
  • What's the cancellation policy?

Cancellation terms for this trip are set by the operator and confirmed on your booking voucher. Refunds mirror the operator's policy, if they can refund, so can we. Wanderlust handles the refund for you, refunds mirror the operator's terms 1:1 (including if the operator cancels) and we chase it on your behalf. "We really enjoyed the tour. Really great if you don’t have much time and you want to see lots of the cultural Fiji and get away from the western resorts."
