The Wanderlust crew · Updated · 9 min read

Short answer

Our nine Fiji island-hopping packages run from $472 to $2,199 per person in a dorm. For a short first trip, take the 3-Day Short Escape or 5 Days, 3 Islands. For a week with the Blue Lagoon and the activities paid, take 7 Days, 4 Islands or the 8-day Yasawa Wanderer. The Seabreeze Island Hop is the one with island meals included, and the Fiji Five and Beach & Culture tours add the mainland.

Prices are per person in AUD for a dorm bed and update from our live listings. Private rooms cost more and are priced on each tour page. Unless a package says otherwise, island meal plans (FJ$135 to FJ$209 per person per day, paid at each resort) and the ferry fuel surcharge (FJ$20 per person in October 2026) are extra.

Where they start: the Seabreeze picks you up at Nadi airport. All the others collect you from your Nadi or Denarau hotel, so you’ll want a mainland night first (our welcome packs cover it). When they start: the Fiji Five and Beach & Culture tours depart Wednesdays and Saturdays. The rest start any day.

The short ones: 3 to 5 days

Fiji 3-Day Short Escape, from $472. A night on South Sea Island, a speck of sand in the Mamanucas you can walk around in five minutes, then up to Kuata for a guided reef-shark snorkel and the summit trail at sunset. Suits a long weekend or a stopover. Ages 18+.

Fiji 4 Days, 2 Islands, from $808. A full day of free watersports, the semi-submarine and drinks on South Sea Island (9.45am to 4pm), a night there, then two nights in manta country with two activities included. A Malamala Beach Club day pass is thrown in for before or after. Suits anyone who wants mantas (May to October) in under a week. Ages 18+.

Fiji 5 Days, 3 Islands, from $927. South Sea Island, two nights in manta country, then Kuata for the reef-shark snorkel. Manta swim in season (guided reef snorkel otherwise), a sunset tube ride and the summit hike are included. The best short package for doing the big two: mantas and sharks. Ages 18+.

The weeks: 7 and 8 days

Fiji 7 Days, 4 Islands, from $1,279. The classic first-timer route, all the way up the chain and back. Two nights at Blue Lagoon Beach or Boathouse Nanuya with the Sawa-i-Lau caves and a village visit, two in manta country, a night on Kuata or Octopus and a last night on South Sea Island. Suits anyone who wants the whole Yasawa chain in a week with the paid activities already sorted. Ages 18+.

Yasawa Wanderer, 8 Days on 4 Islands, from $1,416. Gateway, Blue Lagoon, manta country, then a different gateway resort on the way home: seven nights, with the Sawa-i-Lau caves, the manta swim in season and each resort’s own activities included. The exact resort in each region is allocated when the booking is confirmed. It adds a welcome pack (sulu, drink bottle and waterproof bag), a full-day Malamala Beach Club pass, and single, twin and triple rooms as well as dorms. Suits friends travelling as three, and anyone happy to let the route be chosen for them.

Which week? Lower price for a dorm bed: 7 Days 4 Islands at $1,279. The Wanderer adds a night, the Malamala pass, the welcome pack and triple rooms. If you’d rather choose your own islands and pay for activities as you go, look at the Yasawa Pass instead (our pass vs package guide compares them).

Meals included: Seabreeze Island Hop

Seabreeze Island Hop, 9 Days, from $2,199. The island hop with the meal plans already paid. Two nights each on South Sea Island, Barefoot Kuata and Barefoot Manta with every island meal included, plus a night at Smugglers Cove in Nadi at each end, breakfast there and airport transfers both ways. It departs daily. The manta swim and diving are paid extras, and lunch and dinner on the Nadi nights are on you.

Suits anyone who’d rather not budget a meal plan at every resort: on most packages that’s FJ$135 to FJ$209 per person per day, paid on the island. Book a dorm bed, or a double per person when two of you travel together.

Mainland and islands: Fiji Five and Beach & Culture

Fiji Five: Mainland and 4 Islands, 11 Days, from $1,989. Four guided days on Viti Levu first: a kava welcome ceremony and a night on Robinson Crusoe Island with its fire dancing show, the Biausevu waterfall trek, a day of boat rides and tubing on the Navua River, sandboarding on the Sigatoka dunes and the Sabeto mud pools. Then two nights each on South Sea Island, Barefoot Kuata and Barefoot Manta. The guide is with you on the mainland; the islands are independent, with every boat and bed booked. Lunch is included on days two to four. Departs Wednesdays and Saturdays, groups up to 15.

Fiji Beach & Culture Tour, 4 Days, from $929. The mainland half of the Fiji Five on its own: Robinson Crusoe Island, the waterfall, the Navua River, the dunes and the mud pools, with a guide and driver. Departs Wednesdays and Saturdays. Pair it with an island package for a 10-day trip (see our Fiji itineraries).

Who they suit Travellers who want waterfalls, villages and rivers as well as beaches, and like a guide for the mainland part.

The long one: 12 days

Fiji 12-Day Island Explorer, from $1,709. Eleven nights across five stays: South Sea Island (2), Kuata or Octopus (2), manta country (3), Blue Lagoon (2) and Kuata or Octopus again (2). Every big activity on the route is included: the caves, a village visit, the manta swim in season, the reef-shark snorkel, a sunset tube ride and the summit hike. Three nights in manta country gives you the best manta odds of any package here. Suits travellers with two weeks who want island pace. Ages 18+.

FAQs

What is the best island-hopping package in Fiji?

For most first-timers, Fiji 7 Days, 4 Islands (from $1,279): the whole Yasawa chain, the Blue Lagoon and the Sawa-i-Lau caves, with the manta swim in season and the reef-shark snorkel included. With less time, Fiji 5 Days, 3 Islands does mantas and sharks in five days.

Which Fiji package includes meals?

The Seabreeze Island Hop includes all meals on its three islands. On the other packages, each island resort charges a compulsory meal plan of FJ$135 to FJ$209 per person per day, paid on the island. The Fiji Five and Beach & Culture tours include some meals on the mainland days.

Can I get a private room on a Fiji package?

Yes. Every package here has private options: a twin or double room priced for two, a single room, and on the Yasawa Wanderer a triple. Prices are on each tour page.

Which packages include a manta ray swim?

Fiji 4 Days 2 Islands, 5 Days 3 Islands, 7 Days 4 Islands, the Yasawa Wanderer and the 12-Day Explorer include it in season (May to October), with a guided reef snorkel otherwise. On the Seabreeze and the Fiji Five, the manta swim is a paid extra. Mantas are wild, so sightings aren’t guaranteed.

Are these packages good for solo travellers?

Yes. The island resorts are social, dorms are the default room and on a set package you travel the same route as other guests. The Fiji Five and Seabreeze run as groups of up to 15.

Do Fiji packages include flights?

No. They start in Nadi. Flights, travel insurance, drinks and the ferry fuel surcharge are extra on all of them.
