Overview

The long version, for people who'd rather stay a few nights than keep packing. You start with two nights on South Sea Island in the Mamanucas, then two on Kuata for the reef-shark snorkel and summit sunsets. Next come three nights in manta country (manta swim May to October, reef snorkel otherwise) and two at Blue Lagoon at the top of the chain, with the Sawa-i-Lau caves and a village visit. You finish with two more nights back on Kuata before the ferry to Denarau.

Every bed, ferry leg and Nadi hotel pickup, plus the activities below, is in one booking, and our concierge sets each reservation. Twelve days is long enough that the island staff learn your name.

Common questions about this trip

  • Why two stays on Kuata?

It's the closest Yasawa island to the mainland, so the route loops back through it for a short last ferry ride home. You can swap the second stay for Octopus Resort if you'd rather see somewhere new; ask the concierge.
  • Are meals included?

No. Each island resort runs a compulsory meal plan paid on arrival, since there's nowhere else to eat. Over 11 nights this adds up, so budget for it in Fijian dollars.
  • Are the mantas guaranteed?

No. They feed in the channel roughly May to October and sightings depend on the day. Three nights there gives you the best odds on the route.
  • Is there a fuel surcharge?

Yes. The ferry operator sets it monthly, currently FJ$20 per person, paid locally before you board.
  • How do you confirm the booking?

Island beds are confirmed on request; our concierge confirms every component within 48 hours. If we can't confirm your dates, you don't pay for it.
  • What's the cancellation policy?

Cancellation terms for this trip are set by the operator and confirmed on your booking voucher. Refunds mirror the operator's policy, if they can refund, so can we. Wanderlust handles the refund for you, refunds mirror the operator's terms 1:1 (including if the operator cancels) and we chase it on your behalf.
