Overview

This is the classic Fiji island hop, and the one most first-timers pick. You ride the catamaran from Port Denarau to the top of the chain and spend two nights at Blue Lagoon, swimming in the limestone caves of Sawa-i-Lau and visiting a local village. Then you work your way south: two nights in manta country (manta swim May to October, reef snorkel otherwise), a night on Kuata for the reef-shark snorkel and summit sunset, and a last night on South Sea Island in the Mamanucas before the ferry back to Denarau.

Beds, every ferry leg, Nadi hotel pickups and the activities below are in one booking, and our concierge sets each reservation. The resorts are social and most guests travel solo, so you'll know half the boat by the second island.

Common questions about this trip

  • Is this the same as a Bula Pass?

No. A Bula Pass is the ferry only and you sort your own beds. This package fixes the route and includes every bed, every ferry leg, your hotel pickups and the activities, so it's one booking.
  • Are meals included?

No. Each island resort runs a compulsory meal plan paid on arrival, since there's nowhere else to eat. Budget in Fijian dollars and carry a card plus cash; island ATMs are rare.
  • Are the mantas guaranteed?

No. They feed in the channel roughly May to October and sightings depend on the day. Outside the season the swim becomes a guided reef snorkel.
  • Is there a fuel surcharge?

Yes. The ferry operator sets it monthly, currently FJ$20 per person, paid locally before you board.
  • Can I upgrade from a dorm?

Yes. Private rooms and bures are available on every island at extra cost; ask the concierge for a quote.
  • How do you confirm the booking?

Island beds are confirmed on request; our concierge confirms every component within 48 hours. If we can't confirm your dates, you don't pay for it.
  • What's the cancellation policy?

Cancellation terms for this trip are set by the operator and confirmed on your booking voucher. Refunds mirror the operator's policy, if they can refund, so can we. Wanderlust handles the refund for you, refunds mirror the operator's terms 1:1 (including if the operator cancels) and we chase it on your behalf. Message us for the exact day-by-day terms before you book.
