Overview

Kuranda is the Village in the Rainforest up the range behind Cairns, and the two ways of getting there are the point of the trip. This itinerary does both: the Kuranda Scenic Railway up in the morning and the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway back down in the afternoon.

The train winds up through the ranges with the views the name promises, then you've got free time in the village for whatever it turns up (attractions in Kuranda are at your own cost). Early afternoon, the Skyrail picks you up and glides over and through the World Heritage listed rainforest canopy on the way back to the coast.

Return transfers from Cairns city are included, so the whole six-and-a-quarter-hour day is door to door. Bring money for lunch; food and drinks aren't included.

Finally a quick stop at Birdworld which houses a lot of exotic and local birds and a cassowary, before joining the Kuranda Scenic Railway back to Cairns."
