Summertime has been sailing longer than most of her passengers' parents have been alive, a 70-year-old ketch, refurbished to keep the character and add the comforts. She departs 8:30am Thursdays and Saturdays with a maximum of 17 aboard, which is exactly the size where strangers stop being strangers.
The two days and one night cover the icons, Whitehaven Beach, the Hill Inlet lookout, snorkelling the fringing reefs with wetsuits and gear included, but the boat brings her own extras: kayaks for every guest, so anchorages become playgrounds, and a freshwater jacuzzi for salt-free soaking between swims. Below deck it's fully air-conditioned with a comfortable saloon; above, the deck space is made for sunsets.
All meals, snacks, linen and park fees are included; BYO drinks and a beach towel. Old boat, easy days, good company, that's the whole formula.

Depart Coral Sea Marina at 8:30am on a classic timber ketch. Sail through the Whitsunday Islands, snorkel the fringing reefs, kayak around the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and head for Whitehaven Beach and the Hill Inlet lookout. Evening is for dinner prepared fresh on board and a soak in the freshwater jacuzzi.
Breakfast on board, then more snorkelling and kayaking before the sail back to Coral Sea Marina, arriving about 4pm. The skipper adjusts the route to the weather and conditions.

The operator's track record
Review excerpts below are from Tripadvisor.
"They took us to bays which were amazing full of sea life and even had sharks by our boat at night. … took us to Whitehaven beach early, which was the best decision. By 10am it was absolutely packed and would’ve ruined the experience."

Tripadvisor review
"The crew was great and took us to the best spots navigating the challenging weather. … We saw heaps of wildlife including sea turtles, manta rays and George the famous Humphead of Manta Ray Bay."
Sophie A.
Tripadvisor review
"Great two days spent on the water! … We got to see whales, sharks, sting rays, and tons of fish. All the food was good and there was plenty of it."
