Waltzing Matilda is a boat with a history, and the crew will tell it, but the trip itself is a straightforward overnight sail that squeezes three snorkels, a lookout and a long stint on Whitehaven Beach into two days. It's family friendly, with a private cabin available if you'd rather not share.
Day one sails from the marina to Hook Passage or Border Island for the first snorkel over coral reef, lunch, then a second swim in Peter's Bay. Sunset is taken on deck with the rest of the group. Day two heads to Hill Inlet for the lookout over the swirling sands, followed by leisurely hours on Whitehaven, and one last snorkel on the sail home before the marina at 4:00 pm.
Skipper and crew, all meals and snacks, drinking water, wetsuit hire, snorkelling gear with tuition, fresh linen and all marine park fees are included. Alcohol is BYO; soft drinks are sold on board.

Set sail from Airlie Beach on a 60 ft ketch, for a traditional sailing experience. Head for Hook Passage or the secluded Border Island, where the snorkelling gear comes out for a swim over coral reef full of marine life. After lunch, take a second dip in the clear water of Peter's Bay. As evening settles in, watch the sunset from the deck and get to know the group.
Start at Hill Inlet for the lookout view over the swirling sands, reached by a short bush walk where you might spot goannas and butterflies. Then spend leisurely hours on seven kilometres of silica sand at Whitehaven Beach. Squeeze in one last snorkel on the sail home, and you are back at the marina by 4:00 pm.
