Overview

Choose between an extended morning cruise (about 5 hours, 8am to 1pm) or an afternoon and sunset cruise (about 4 hours, 2pm to 6pm). Either way you watch humpback whales in Hervey Bay's calm waters with live commentary about the whales, dolphins, dugongs, turtles and birdlife, and about K'gari and the Butchulla people, the Traditional Owners.

The vessel has wide decks and multi-level viewing, including water level, and carries no more than 70 percent of its capacity. A hydrophone lets you hear the whales sing. Meals are included: morning tea and lunch on the morning cruise, afternoon tea and dinner on the afternoon cruise, with special dietary requirements catered for on request and with reasonable notice. Tea, coffee, milo and filtered water are free, there's a licensed bar, free wifi, and courtesy bus transfers from Hervey Bay accommodation.

The operator lists the season as starting in mid July and running to October.

"A really special experience! We hoped to see a whale but were kindly surprised to see 20+ whales. … I would definitely recommend to any ocean lovers. The cruise back with the sun setting was pretty spectacular too."

"We had a fabulous experience on our whale watching tour. The staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We were fortunate to have a couple of whales come right up to the boat, so we were able to view these majestic creatures close up."
