Eureka II had a proper racing career out of Sydney before she settled into the Whitsundays, and she's still one of the quickest maxis in the islands. She's 18 metres long, owned and skippered by a captain with 30 years of sailing behind him, run with two crew, and fitted out with an air-conditioned saloon, two toilets and showers, an undercover deck for when the weather turns, and, yes, Netflix and wifi. Trips leave Airlie Beach on Mondays and Thursdays at 2pm, with check-in at 1.30pm on Shute Harbour Road, and return on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 4pm, so you get two full nights at anchor and most of a third day on the water.
Sailing is hands-on if you want it, hands-off if you don't. Day one is the safety briefing and a cruise to the first anchorage for sunset, pre-dinner drinks and a crew-cooked meal. Day two does the Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet essentials, then gets off the beaten track: caves, guided bushwalks to different island lookouts, or shell collecting on the beach if walking isn't your thing. Afternoons are for chasing the best sunset position, and, weather allowing, the crew run you to a secluded beach for sunset snacks and a few drinks before dinner.
Every meal is cooked fresh on board: breakfast, lunch, dinner, morning and afternoon tea and the sunset snacks. Private double cabins, half-double shares and single bunks are all available, linen and bath towels, stinger suits and snorkelling gear are supplied, and drinks are BYO. Minimum age 12, so it suits couples, mates and families who want a small boat rather than a party deck.

Check in at 1.30pm on Shute Harbour Road, Airlie Beach, where the crew walk you down to the boat for a 2pm departure (Mondays and Thursdays). After the safety briefing, settle in for the first afternoon at sea, cruising to the first anchorage as the sun drops over the islands. Pre-dinner drinks with the group while the crew cook the evening meal, then your first night at anchor.
The usual highlights first: Whitehaven Beach's silica sand and the Hill Inlet lookout as the tide swirls through the inlet. Then Eureka escapes the crowds for quieter spots: sea caves, a guided bushwalk up to one of the island lookouts, or a beach to yourself if walking isn't your thing. In the afternoon she chases the best sunset position and, weather permitting, the crew run you ashore to a secluded beach for sunset snacks and drinks before dinner and the second night at anchor.
A last snorkel or sail in the morning, lunch on board, then the run home. Whatever the weather, Eureka is set up to handle it, with an undercover deck if it blows. Back alongside at Airlie Beach at 4pm (Wednesdays and Saturdays), so book onward buses and flights for the evening or the next day.

Review excerpts below are from Tripadvisor.
"They took us to bays which were amazing full of sea life and even had sharks by our boat at night. … took us to Whitehaven beach early, which was the best decision. By 10am it was absolutely packed and would’ve ruined the experience."

Tripadvisor review
"The crew was great and took us to the best spots navigating the challenging weather. … We saw heaps of wildlife including sea turtles, manta rays and George the famous Humphead of Manta Ray Bay."

Tripadvisor review
"Great two days spent on the water! … We got to see whales, sharks, sting rays, and tons of fish. All the food was good and there was plenty of it."
