PowerPlay Whitsundays Sailing: Price, Cabins and What's Included (2026)

What the PowerPlay 2-day 2-night Whitsundays trip costs in 2026 by cabin, what the price includes, how the two days run, and how it compares with other two-night boats.

The Wanderlust crew · Updated · 4 min read

Short answer: PowerPlay’s 2-day 2-night Whitsundays trip costs from $699 per person for a share single berth, $799 for a private quad cabin, $799 for a share double and $999 for a private double. The price includes all meals plus morning and afternoon tea, linen and bath towels, wetsuits, stinger suits, snorkel gear, stand-up paddleboards and wifi. Drinks are BYO. Maximum 16 guests, ages 16 and up.

Prices are per person in AUD, from our current listings (October 2026), and can change. Choose your cabin on the PowerPlay tour page and it shows the exact price before you pay.

Price by cabin

CabinPrice per person
Share single$699
Private quad$799
Share double$799
Private double$999

A share single is one berth in a shared cabin. A private quad is a four-berth cabin to yourselves, so it suits a group of four at the same per-person price as a share double. The private double is the top of the ladder: a cabin for two with nobody else in it.

The boat

PowerPlay is a powered catamaran, not a yacht, which is the point: it spends less time in transit and more time at the anchorages. It is air-conditioned, has a heated jacuzzi on deck, two toilets and showers, private cabins below, and carries a maximum of 16 guests.

What is included

  • All meals, plus morning and afternoon tea
  • All linen and bath towels
  • Wetsuits and stinger suits
  • Snorkelling gear
  • Stand-up paddleboards
  • Wifi

What is extra

  • Alcohol: BYO
  • Bottled water and soft drinks
  • Beach towels: bring one

How the two days run

Day 1: Board and first anchorage. Check in at the meeting point at the time on your boarding pass; the crew meet you and walk you down to the boat. After the safety briefing, cruise to the first anchorage for sunset over the Whitsunday Islands, with drinks while the crew prepare dinner.

Day 2: Whitehaven, Hill Inlet and the reef. A full day around the islands: clear water, secluded bays and snorkelling over coral gardens. Time on the white silica sand of Whitehaven Beach, then the short bushwalk to the lookout at its northern end for the swirling sands of Hill Inlet. The crew take you to their favourite spots in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, and after dark there is snorkelling with marine blue lights.

Day 3: Morning swim and home. A swim, snorkel or paddleboard while the crew prepare breakfast and morning tea, then cruise back to Coral Sea Marina in Airlie Beach, arriving between 11am and 12pm.

The trip departs from Airlie Beach.

How it compares with other two-night boats

Among the two-night Whitsundays boats with private cabins and air-conditioning on our list, the price is close. Atlantic Clipper ($689) is cheaper than PowerPlay ($699). Across the three nearest formats, the lowest starting price right now is New Horizon at $669.

What the extra buys on each:

  • Atlantic Clipper from $689: a tall ship for up to 54 people with a 12-person hot spa, two waterslides, a dive platform and 21 cabins of two, three or four berths. Bath towels are not included. Mostly 18 to 35.
  • New Horizon from $669: up to 32 people, an eight-metre waterslide, a dive platform, air-conditioning and hot showers, esky space for BYO. Bath towels are not included. Mostly 18 to 35.
  • O-Nice from $739: a sailing catamaran for up to nine, with paddleboards, a glass-bottom kayak, bath towels, and ensuite cabins at the top tier.

PowerPlay sits between them: a 16-guest cap rather than a party-boat crowd, a jacuzzi on deck, paddleboards and bath towels in the price, and wifi, which none of the three above list. If you want the Whitsundays with air-conditioning and a private cabin but without the 50-person deck, it is the one to price first.

Before and after the boat

You board in Airlie Beach and return there before midday on day three, so most people stay a night either side. If K’gari is on the plan too, the K’gari + Whitsundays Combo from $1,499 pre-books a 3-day K’gari tag-along, the overnight bus north, a night in Airlie and a 2-night sail on a racing maxi yacht. Our Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet guide covers what you will see on day two.
