Is Noosa worth visiting, how far from Brisbane, do you need a car, can you swim, what about the Everglades and the North Shore 4WD permit: straight answers to what people ask.

L'équipe Wanderlust · Mis à jour · 6 min de lecture

Réponse courte : yes, Noosa is worth visiting, especially for a national park coastal walk, the Everglades and the beach drive to Double Island Point. It is about 160 km north of Brisbane (roughly two hours by road) and around half an hour from Sunshine Coast Airport. You do not need a car in town, because Hastings Street, the main beach and the national park entrance are close together, but a tour helps for the Everglades and the Cooloola beaches. Two nights is enough for most travellers.

Facts below were checked on 27 October 2026 against Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS), Noosa Council and the Queensland Government, named in each answer. Tour prices are from our current listings.

Questions: is it worth it?

Is Noosa worth visiting?

Yes, if you like water and wildlife more than nightlife. Noosa has a national park headland, calm river water, the Everglades and the beach drive north, and it is the gateway to K’gari (Fraser Island). It is quiet at night. Our guide backpacker de Noosa et Comparatif des circuits à Noosa cover the detail.

Combien de jours faut-il à Noosa ?

Two nights is enough: one day for the national park walk and Main Beach, one for a tour such as the Everglades or Double Island Point. Add a day if you want to surf or visit Australia Zoo. If you are heading on to K’gari, plan your tour start around your Noosa nights.

Noosa or Byron Bay: which is better?

Byron wins for nightlife and beginner surf; Noosa wins for nature, calmer water and the K’gari link. Most people on the East Coast stop at both. See Byron Bay vs Noosa et le Byron Bay questions guide.
